Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), has resumed work amid circulating rumors of his resignation.
Reports of his resignation, which emerged over the weekend, were denied by a Presidency source.
The rumors suggested that Ojulari had been pressured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to resign.
However, a top security source has confirmed that Ojulari is at his office engaging in his official duties. An internal memo has also reportedly been circulated to NNPC staff, instructing them to disregard the news of his resignation.
Ojulari was appointed as the new Group CEO by President Bola Tinubu in April 2025. He replaced Mele Kyari. The appointment was part of a broader restructuring aimed at repositioning NNPC for greater productivity and efficiency.
