Victor Osimhen is expected to return for Galatasaray in their first game after the first international break of the 2026/27 season, according to Turkish press including Fanatik.
The striker was initially listed in the Super Eagles squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
Nevertheless, the Nigeria Football Federation and Galatasaray after proper deliberation came to a conclusion that he should withdraw from the squad to continue his recovery.
Osimhen picked up the injury during Galatasaray's clash with Başakşehir on September 4 and has since missed matches against Sporting Lisbon, Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor.
Galatasaray informed the Nigerian Football Federation that the 27-year-old required further treatment, with the club's medical team advising against his involvement with Nigeria.
Osimhen's recovery is progressing well and he is expected to resume team training soon.
The former African Footballer of the Year is set to return to the squad for Galatasaray's Süper Lig meeting with Kasımpaşa on October 9.
Before his spell on the sidelines due to injury, Osimhen was enjoying a blistering run of form, having scored six goals and registered two assists in just four appearances since the start of the campaign.
