Son Heung-min has announced his decision to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer after a decade with the club.
He made the emotional announcement during a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, where the team is on a pre-season tour.
Son, who recently captained Spurs to a Europa League victory, stated that he felt he had achieved everything he could at the club and needed a new environment for a fresh challenge.
He has been heavily linked with a move to MLS side Los Angeles FC, where his former teammate Hugo Lloris currently plays. While other clubs, including some from the Saudi Pro League, have also shown interest, Son appears to favor the move to the United States.
The club had exercised an option to extend his contract until 2026, but they are reportedly being flexible with the transfer due to his long and significant service.
His departure is said to be amicable, with both the club and his teammates respecting his decision.
