Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been granted conditional bail after appearing in court on charges of rape and sexual assault.
The 32-year-old, whose contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June, is facing five counts of rape against two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman.
The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Partey's lawyer has stated that he denies all charges and welcomes the opportunity to clear his name. He was not asked to enter a plea during the hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
The conditions of his bail include that he is not to contact any of the three women and must inform police of any permanent change of address or international travel.
Partey is reportedly set to join the Spanish club Villarreal. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2.
